Berlin/Cologne. 100 per cent for a world without waste: With its latest sustainability reporting, Interzero illustrates the contribution its innovative closed-loop systems and recycling solutions make to climate and resource protection.

Today, companies are faced with the challenge of operating sustainably and complying with increasingly strict regulations. Particularly when it comes to the associated recycling and closed-loop solutions, a partner is needed who can clearly demonstrate compliance and impact – and and this is once again provided by the report.

For the first time, the sender is the newly formed Interzero Holding GmbH & Co. KG. "Our new name directly reflects what we stand for as a company: Sustainability is the core of our business – with our Zero Waste Solutions, we are actively shaping the circular economy of the future," says Dr Axel Schweitzer, Chairman and Shareholder of Interzero.

With 32 locations in eight European countries, Interzero is today the leading service provider for closing product, material and logistics loops and the innovation leader in plastics recycling with the largest sorting capacity in Europe.

The sustainability report now published covers the period 2021/2022. It is based on the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and appears exclusively online on the new microsite sustainability.interzero.de. "With our digital report including the GRI index, we create transparency, provide accountability and clearly structured information about our ecological and social commitment," says Sybilla Merian, sustainability manager at Interzero. "Furthermore, we want to give concrete impulses for circular business models with our sustainability magazine."

Under the motto "ALL IN", the current sustainability magazine shows how Interzero goes all out with its customers when it comes to sustainability - and presents best-practice examples in the field of recycling. For example, Interzero supports Sykell as a strategic partner in establishing EINFACH MEHRWEG, an uncomplicated solution for take-away meals, on the market after its launch with REWE at the beginning of the year. “We support return schemes as they are more beneficial for the environment than disposable alternatives. To be successful in the long term, however, the scheme needs to be highly efficient and convenient for consumers”, stresses Peter Maly, Management Board member and Chief Operating Officer of the REWE Group, who is responsible for logistics and supply chain management for REWE in Germany and across the Group. The cooperation with ALDI is also groundbreaking: a packaging box made of recycled plastics is now available for the detergent classics Tandil 3-in-1 Caps and Tandil 3-in-1 Box.
