toom Baumarkt sells keeeper swivel stacking box made from Interseroh recycled plastic

New product made from Procyclen with Blue Angel label

Cologne. The toom DIY stores (REWE Group) are now stocking a stacking box in their range that is made of 100 per cent recycled plastic Procylen and has been awarded the Blue Angel eco-label. The stacking box is part of the ECO-Line series, which the manufacturer keeeper developed together with INTERSEROH Dienstleistungs GmbH, a subsidiary of the recycling specialist ALBA Group. The box is available in two colours - grey and black - at all toom DIY stores throughout Germany. Further products from the Eco-Line series are to follow.

"One of our key corporate goals is to offer our customers a constantly growing range of sustainable products," says Dominique Rotondi, Managing Director Purchasing at toom Baumarkt GmbH. "The products that keeeper and Interseroh manufacture from Procyclen are therefore an ideal opportunity for us to set an example not only in terms of recyclability, but also with regard to the use of resource-saving materials."

"With our Eco-Line, we have developed a pioneering product series of household items that meets the high demands of environmentally conscious consumers," says Mike Carlos Wolf, CEO of keeeper GmbH. "Thanks to our collaboration with Interseroh, we are able to provide an ideal range of resource-saving products made from 100 per cent Procyclen that offer a number of ecological benefits such as energy savings, a reduction in climate-damaging gases and the conservation of natural raw material sources."

"With our recycled plastic Procyclen, which we produce from household packaging waste, we can respond specifically to individual requirements such as improved mechanical properties or UV resistance and are also flexible in terms of colour," says Dr Manica Ulcnik-Krump, Head of Research and Development Recycled-Resource at Interseroh. "This means there is no longer any need to use primary raw materials such as crude oil when manufacturing new products. Our offering gives customers the opportunity to address the issue of raw material efficiency at the highest quality level."

Interseroh produces the multi-award-winning secondary plastic Procyclen using the specially developed Recycled-Resource upcycling process. In addition to the unique combination of material properties, the recycled plastic is also superior to any new material in terms of raw material, energy and climate protection: the use of Procyclen reduces greenhouse gas emissions in the manufacture of new products by 30 to 50 per cent.
