What training have you completed?

Oscar Heredia: I am an industrial engineer and originally come from the automotive industry. At first, working with plastics was like a culture shock. I actually learnt everything about plastics here at Interzero.

Oscar Heredia: What I like about my job is that I do something for the environment and that we make regranulate, which for me is an art.

What is your biggest strength?

Oscar Heredia: My strength would be communication, because we have many employees from different countries and I can speak three languages, for example. But there are people who work here who come from other countries where I don't speak the language, but still we understand each other.

What is special about the PET plant in Liebenau?

Oscar Heredia: I think the special thing about this facility is that we produce PET bottles, that you can buy in a supermarket and hold in your own hands.

What does your typical working day look like?

Oscar Heredia: Every morning I do a tour, I take a look at the machines, I'll talk to my colleagues, I'll see what happened during the night shift and then we make a plan for the day.

How many hours is the PET system in operation?

Oscar Heredia: The PET factory runs 24/7 and we produce between 1.5 tonnes and 2 tonnes per hour.

What is your favourite plastic?

Oscar Heredia: My favourite plastic is LDPE. Simply because when I'm at the supermarket I always see LDPE and I know that LDPE smells like a candle and I think that's simply beautiful.
