Meet the Team: Nathalie Kirchner
With ‘Meet the Team’, we would like to give you an insight into our corporate culture and the unique team behind Interzero. We present the professional and personal diversity of our team. As Strategy and Organization Officer at ICSE, Nathalie Kirchner keeps a firm focus on the strategic goals of our European subsidiaries.
Nathalie Kirchner: My name is Nathalie Kirchner, I work for Interzero Circular Solutions Europe, i.e. for the international group, in the Strategy and Organisation staff position, and I advise when it comes to how we need to shape our organisation so that we are able to implement our strategic goals.
What does your typical working day look like?
Nathalie Kirchner: My typical working day involves many meetings. There is a lot to coordinate and discuss. But I really like that. I spend relatively little time working from home and it's important to me that we emphasise personal contact. What has become apparent with strategic or organisational projects: Without a personal exchange with colleagues, without the inclusion of different opinions, you won't get anywhere and will only have limited success, even when it comes to implementation.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Nathalie Kirchner: What I would advise my younger self in particular with regard to sustainability and the circular economy is not to start thinking about the fact that the planet only has a manageable pool of resources in your mid-20s but to become active earlier, because each individual can make an insanely big difference through their behaviour.
What are you most proud of in your job?
Nathalie Kirchner: When I look at my job, I'm definitely proud that I can make a sustainable difference. So this impact in particular, which we also achieve with #MoveTheDate and transport to the outside world, is of course a motivator and driver for me.
What is your favorite plastic?
Nathalie Kirchner: I think it's very important that we reintroduce recycled materials into the cycle and the potential for this is huge. That's why rPET is my favourite plastic.
