Meet the Team: David Wolf
With ‘Meet the Team’, we would like to give you an insight into our corporate culture and the unique team behind Interzero. We present the professional and personal diversity of our team. David Wolf is our expert for the new PET recycling plant in Liebenau. As the lead project engineer, he has shared some impressive insights with us.
David Wolf: I am David Wolf and I’ve been the project manager for the PET recycling project here since 2021.
What does your typical working day look like?
David Wolf: Not every day is like the other. I work with a wide variety of customers, suppliers and characters. That’s what makes it so interesting for me to work here. As a project manager, it also depends on which project phase you are in.
What is so special about the rPET plant?
David Wolf: The special feature of the rPET plant here at the site is that we are moving from a linear system, i.e. a product eventually becomes waste, to a closed cycle. We receive the bottles here in sorted and shredded form and produce a food-grade granulate from them, which the beverage industry then uses to make their preforms or beverage bottles, which we can buy again in the shop.
What are you most proud of in your job?
David Wolf: I like getting up in the morning and going to the rPET plant because working in recycling is highly recognised in society. When I am asked: David, what do you do for a living? Then I answer: I recreate a bottle from a bottle. This is usually met with great admiration.
Where does your passion fort he job come from?
David Wolf: My passion comes from the fact that we have to be aware that we have to recycle in order to secure our raw materials for future generations. So that the next generation can live like we do here on earth.
What is your favourite plastic?
David Wolf: As I was involved in most of this PET project, PET is of course my favourite plastic.
