New „Made for Recycling“ seal

BIOFACH: Interseroh presents Bio-Zentrale with new "Made for Recycling" seal

Cologne. As part of BIOFACH, the world's leading trade fair for the organic sector in Nuremberg, the environmental services provider Interseroh is today awarding the new "Made for Recycling" seal to the organic food manufacturer Bio-Zentrale Naturprodukte. This makes Bio-Zentrale the first manufacturer of organic food to be authorised to display the new Interseroh seal on its packaging. The seal was symbolically attached to an oversized product packaging from Bio-Zentrale.

"Our food should not only be as natural as possible, but also have as little impact on the environment as possible. The seal is a kind of accolade for our efforts," says a delighted Johannes Mauss, Managing Director of Bio-Zentrale Naturprodukte GmbH.

The new Interseroh seal symbolises the excellent recyclability of packaging. In concrete terms, this means The packaging can be excellently separated by the consumer in the recycling cycle, mechanically sorted and mechanically recycled.

"We hope that many other manufacturers will follow the good example of the Bio-Zentrale and check their product packaging for recyclability," says Julian Thielen, responsible for the "Made for Recycling" packaging optimisation division at INTERSEROH Dienstleistungs GmbH. "Even in packaging design, recyclability is the key criterion when selecting materials, alongside product protection and quality impression."

A joint press conference with all partners involved in the process will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Bio-Zentrale stand at BIOFACH. Mr Julian Thielen will be there to present Interseroh's new explanatory video on packaging optimisation: https://youtu.be/Kz16WkPtuD0
